Sting deals Miron to Rochester

A logjam in Arizona's crease opened the door for Mike Miron's trade to the Knighthawks.

The Arizona Sting has traded goaltender Mike Miron to the Rochester Knighthawks in exchange for a conditional draft pick at the 2007 NLL Entry Draft.

"We wish Mike the best of luck in Rochester," said Sting coach-GM Bob Hamley. "He won some big games for us during his time in the Valley, but with three very promising young goaltenders and a former goalie of the year on our roster, we felt like we had to make this move."

Originally drafted in the second round (17th overall) at the 2001 NLL Entry Draft, Miron logged 3,234 minutes of action with the Columbus/Arizona franchise in 68 career games.  The 26-year-old has a career GAA of 13.00 and a save percentage of 74.80.

The Sting drafted two goalies at the 2006 NLL Entry Draft - Brandon Atherton and Ron Schibild. In addition, 22-year-old free agent Mike Attwood was signed during the offseason.  The NLL's 2002 Goaltender of the Year, Rob Blasdell, was recently re-signed to a one-year contract extension, and was named Arizona's Franchise Player on August 1, 2006.

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  Their home games are played at the Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
