Miami returns to top spot
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following a two-week absence, Miami University returns to the top spot of the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll. The RedHawks, whose record stands at 24-5-7, collected 497 points and 21-of-34 first-place votes.

The University of Denver (489, 13 first-place votes) falls to No. 2 after splitting its weekend series with No. 15 Colorado College, while the University of Wisconsin (432), which went 1-1-0 against the University of Minnesota, is No. 3. Boston College (400) moves up one spot to No. 4 after going 1-0-1 against No. 10 University of New Hampshire, while the University of North Dakota (366), which won a pair of games against Michigan Tech University, rounds out the top five.
Highlighting this weekend's games is a best-of-three series between No. 14 University of Minnesota Duluth and No. 15 Colorado College in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
NOTES: The WCHA boasts six ranked programs. The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has four ranked teams, while ECAC Hockey and the Hockey East Association each have two ranked programs. Bemidji State University is the only ranked College Hockey America team ... A total of 23 teams received votes.
ABOUT THE POLL: The 15th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
